First raised on April 1, 1959, and after obtaining complete independence, the flag of Mauritania is a telling highlight of the importance of its location in Africa, the widely followed Islamic religion, and the French name of a country â€" Republique Islamique de Mauritanie.

Mauritania was first inhabited by blacks and Berbers, and it was a center for the Berber Almoravid movement in the 11th century, which sought to spread Islam through western Africa. It was first explored by the Portuguese in the 15th century, but by the 19th century, the French had gained control. France organized the area into a territory in 1904, and in 1920, it became one of the colonies that constituted French West Africa. In 1946, it was named a French overseas territory. French colonization at the beginning of the 20th century brought legal prohibitions against slavery and an end to interclan warfare.

As colonialism spread throughout Africa in the 19th century, France stationed troops in Mauritania, but it was not until 1904 that, having played one Moorish faction off against another, the French finally managed to make Mauritania a colonial territory. Independence was fairly easily achieved in 1960 because the French wanted to prevent the country from being absorbed by newly independent Morocco.

The flag of Mauritania was introduced by Moktar Ould Daddah and outlined in the constitution of March 1959. The flag was officially adopted on April 1, 1959. The flag of Mauritania is a green field with a crescent moon and a star at the center. The crescent faces upward, making a U, with its ends pointing upward, and the five-pointed star centered above the crescent. The Mauritanian flag uses the traditional pan-African colors, green and gold, which have been used along with red and black to represent many of the nations of Africa.

The green and gold in the Mauritanian Islands' flag are considered Pan-African colors. Green also symbolizes Islam, and the gold also represents the sands of the Sahara desert. The crescent and star are also symbols of Islam, which is the major religion in Mauritania. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flag designs offered a special edition of decals and flags to memorize the history of Mauritanian Flag for the future.

One of the original 13 colonies and one of the six New England states, Massachusetts (officially called a commonwealth) is known for being the landing place of the Mayflower and the Pilgrims. English explorer and colonist John Smith named the state for the Massachuset tribe.

Massachusetts Flag is identical on both sides and depicts the blue and gold Commonwealth of Massachusetts coat of arms set against a field of white. History, though, finds that the state flag used to have two different sides, with one side bearing a coat of arms and the other depicting a green pine tree, which was a symbol of the importance of wood to the settlers of Massachusetts.

An official Massachusetts flag was adopted in 1901. The design was derived from that of the original naval ensign and did not feature the state's coat of arms. It was used until 1971 when it was replaced with the modern design. A variation on the design was adopted for use as the governor's flag at the same time, but the pine tree remains in use on the modern naval ensign of Massachusetts.

The flag's coat of arms has a color scheme of blue, gold and white, and includes the image of a gold-colored Native American within a shield colored blue. The different elements of the coat of arms on the State flag of Massachusetts each has a meaning that represents the state. The blue shield symbolizes the Blue Hills of two towns in the state, Canton, and Milton. The Native American carries a large bow held with his right hand and an arrow in his left; the arrow as its tip is pointed down to signify that he comes in peace.

The state flag of Massachusetts has a solid white field with the Massachusetts coat of arms in the center. The coat of arms features an Algonquin man armed with a bow with an arrow pointed towards the ground. The man reflects the history of the native people of Massachusetts, and the arrow is pointed towards the ground as a symbol of peace.

The tip of the arrow facing downward is a perfect representation of peace and harmony. The radiant white star projects the state of Massachusetts as a part of the 13 original state of the US. The arm with the sword effectively portrays the first half of the state motto. Before Europeans arrived in Maryland the land was inhabited by Native Americans. Most of the Native Americans spoke the Algonquian language. They lived in domed wigwam homes made from tree branches, bark, and mud.

Maryland was named in honor of Henrietta Maria, the wife of King Charles I, by a grateful Cecilius (Cecil) Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore, who was granted a charter for the land in 1632. Annapolis, the state capital, lies on the Chesapeake Bay, roughly equidistant from Baltimore (north) and Washington, D.C. (west).

The flag was adopted on Mar. 9, 1904. Maryland is the seventh state of the union, gaining statehood on Apr. 28, 1788. It is one of the original 13 colonies that united to form the union of the United States. A gold and black flag was used by the colony, until the American Revolutionary War. During the American Civil War, Maryland remained with the Union (North) however, many citizens sympathized with the Confederacy (south).

These people expressed their sympathies for the Confederacy by putting on a garb of white and red emblems. The soldiers of Maryland, who fought against the south, similarly dressed in their own emblems that marked their original state. When the war ended, all the colors of red, white, gold and black were connected with Maryland.

The flag of Maryland is sectioned into four quarters. The top left and bottom right are the same and the top right and bottom left quarters are also the same as each other. The flag features the arms of two English families, the Calvert family, and the Crossland family. The black and gold arms represent the Calverts and the red and white arms represent the Crosslands.

Although traditional heraldry fell into disuse in the 13 British colonies during the American Revolution (1775â€"83), the arms of the Lords Baltimore were never forgotten. Various designs, including badges worn by Maryland troops during the Civil War (1861â€"65), incorporated these symbols. On March 9, 1904, an armorial banner combining the arms of the Calverts and Crosslands was officially adopted as the state flag. Across botonée frequently serves as the final for the pole on which the flag is displayed. A Mexican flag is an object of great national pride within Mexico. The Mexican flag consists of three vertical stripes which are red, white and green. On the central white stripe lies the national crest; an eagle resting upon a cactus with a serpent in one of its talons. The original Mexican flag was officially presented in 1821 and while the flag has changed moderately over time, the current Mexican flag is almost exactly the same as the one created almost 200 years ago.

The first national flag of Mexico came into existence in 1821 when the country secured its independence from the rule of Spain. Just two years later when the federal republic was established, changes were made to the coat of arms and incorporated as part of the second national flag. The first flag featured a crown on the head of the eagle, which was now removed. Further, the eagle was now shown holding a serpent in its talons, and oak and laurels branches were added. These have been preserved in the modern-day flag.

In 1813, the revolutionaries designed a new flag. They used white silk with a border of blue and white squares. In the center, an eagle perched on a cactus. This image was encircled by a Latin motto, Oculis et unguibus asqué victrix (victorious with both eyes and talons), and was topped with the Spanish crown.

The Mexican flag colors also have historical origins. At the beginning of the 19th century when Mexico was fighting for independence from Spain a coalition army of Spanish troops and rebels was formed, the Ejercito Trigarante, or Army of the Three Guarantees. To represent this army a flag was used that incorporated red, white and green in a flag. This flag would be used until the end of the war. Preserving these colors in the flag of today is a way of remembering the struggle for independence as well as reminding the Mexican people of the foundations that this country was created upon.

There is no official directive for the meaning of the colors used in the Mexican flag. However, the first use of these colors was by the Army of the Three Guarantees in 1821. The Army was formed by the unification of Spanish troops and Mexican insurgent troops.

Later, under Venustiano Carranza, it was modified again: the eagle is now shown in left profile and reflects the Mexica legend of the founding of Tenochtitlan . A green, white and red ribbon representing the patriotic nation was added, shown tying together branches of oak and laurel. The history of Malta is a long and colorful one dating back to the dawn of civilization. The Maltese Islands went through a golden Neolithic period, the remains of which are the mysterious temples dedicated to the goddess of fertility. Later on, the Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Romans and the Byzantines, all left their traces on the Islands. British rule in Malta lasted until 1964 when Malta became independent. The Maltese adapted the British system of administration, education, and legislation. Modern Malta became a Republic in 1974 and joined the European Union in May 2004.

Maltas flag came into use near the middle of the 20th century, but its colors drew on a much older tradition. They are a reflection of the country's ancient history and the honors that it has received, and they have formed the core of all of Maltas flags.

All of Maltas flags have been dominated by red and white. The modern flag is a simple bicolor with the white section along the hoist and the red along the fly that has the George Cross in the Canton. The George Cross is a badge of honor that reflects the nation's history. It was awarded to the nation for its actions during the second world war, and it has been a symbol of the nation ever since.

Red and white have been the colors of Maltas flag for so long that it is difficult to sort the facts out from the myths that surround them. One legend says that Roger of Sicily gave the colors to Malta when the local Christians offered to join him in his war against the local Muslims. His personal flag was also red and white, and he allegedly tore part of it off and gave it to his Maltese supporters so that he could distinguish them from his enemies. The story is dubious, but it has anchored itself in the local culture and has been told for centuries.

The George cross appeared on a blue canton on 28th December 1943 and this remained to be the Malta flag's design until 21st September 1964 when the flag and arms were changed yet again with a narrow red fringe substituting the blue canton. All the three variations of the flag might be spotted flying today but the predominant one is the current official Maltese flag that is red and white in color.

The flag of Malta is said to be unique because it was decorated from another country. The design of the Maltese flag can be associated with the United Kingdom. Its civil ensign is also considered to be hugely different. It's red field and white border combined with the white cross which symbolizes the gallantry of the people in Malta. The Maltese flag is considered to be one of a kind. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flag designs offered a special edition of decals and flags to memorize the history of Malta Flag for the future.

The flag of the Marshall Islands in the Pacific was adopted at the time of self-governance in 1979. The star's 24 points represent the number of electoral districts while the four elongated points represent the principal cultural centers of Majuro, Jaluit, Wotje and Ebeye.

Most of the 60,422 inhabitants live on two atolls: Majuro, the capital of the Republic; and on Ebeye in Kwajalein, the largest atoll in the world, with a land area of six square miles surrounding a 655 square mile lagoon.

Sighted in 1529 by the Spanish navigator Álvaro Saavedra, the Marshalls lacked the wealth to encourage exploitation or mapping. The British captain Samuel Wallis chanced upon Rongerik and Rongelap atolls while sailing from Tahiti to Tinian. The British naval captains John Marshall and Thomas Gilbert partially explored the Marshalls in 1788, but much of the mapping was done by Russian expeditions under Adam Johann Krusenstern (1803) and Otto von Kotzebue (1815 and 1823).

The Marshall Islands flag was adopted on May 1, 1979. The Marshall Islands gained independence from the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands on October 21, 1986.The flag of the Marshall Islands consists of a dark blue background with two stripes extending diagonally from the lower left of the flag to the upper right side. The top stripe is orange and the bottom one is white. In the upper left corner of the flag, there is a white, 24-pointed star. The north, east, west and south points of the star are larger than the other points.

The four longer points in the star represent the capital of Majuro, and the three subcenters, Ebeye (Kwajalein), Jaluit, and Wotje. These points also form a cross signifying the importance of Christianity in the Marshalls.

In 1944, World War II, the United States invaded and occupied the islands. The archipelago was added to the U.S. Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, along with several other island groups in the South Sea. In the months before the attack on Pearl Harbor, Kwajalein Atoll was the administrative center of the 6th Fleet Forces Service, whose task was the defense of the Marshall Islands. Although Macedonia is a young state which became independent in 1991, its roots run deep in the history. The name "Macedonia" is, in fact, the oldest surviving name of a country in the continent of Europe. Archeological evidence shows that old European civilization flourished in Macedonia between 7000 and 3500 BC. Macedonia is located in the center of the Southern Balkans, north of ancient Greece, east of Illyria, and west of Thrace. The ancient Macedonians were a distinct nation, ethnically, linguistically, and culturally different from their neighbors.

The Republic of Macedonia occupies the western half of the ancient Kingdom of Macedonia. Historic Macedonia was defeated by Rome and became a Roman province in 148 B.C. After the Roman Empire was divided in A.D. 395, Macedonia was intermittently ruled by the Byzantine Empire until Turkey took possession of the land in 1371. The Ottoman Turks dominated Macedonia for the next five centuries, until 1913.

During the 19th and 20th centuries, there was a constant struggle by the Balkan powers to possess Macedonia for its economic wealth and its strategic military corridors. The Treaty of San Stefano in 1878, ending the Russo-Turkish War, gave the largest part of Macedonia to Bulgaria. Bulgaria lost much of its Macedonian territory when it was defeated by the Greeks and Serbs in the Second Balkan War of 1913. Most of the Macedonia went to Serbia and the remainder was divided among Greece and Bulgaria.

The Macedonian flag was adopted on October 5, 1995, making it one of the world's newest flags. Macedonia gained independence from Yugoslavia on September 8, 1991. When Macedonia was part of Yugoslavia the flag was red with a red star in the top left the corner. Greece objected to the new republic calling itself Macedonia and to the design of the new national flag.

After several years, the Vergina Sun was rediscovered and it was found on the larnax of Alexander the Great’s mother. Since then, the Vergina Sun has been made as one of the political symbols of modern Macedonia.

The sun is centered in the rectangular flag, with rays of sunshine beaming into each end and corner of the flag. The sun is referred to as "the new sun of Liberty," representing the new Republic of Macedonia. The Mali region has been the seat of extensive empires and kingdoms, notably those of Ghana, Mali, and Gao. The medieval empire of Mali was a powerful state and one of the world's chief gold suppliers.

In January 1959, in Dakar, representatives of the Sudanese Republic, Senegal, Dahomey (now Benin), and Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso) drafted a constitution of the Federation of Mali (named after the medieval African empire), but only the assemblies of the Sudanese Republic and Senegal ratified it and became members of the federation. Later that year the new Mali Federation asked the French Community to grant it complete sovereignty while permitting it to remain a member of the Community. The Mali Federation became a sovereign state in June 1960.

The original flag of Mali was first raised on April 4, 1959, at the time of the creation of Mali Federation when French Sudan and Senegal joined forces. Mali Federation obtained its independence on June 20, 1960, and shortly thereafter Senegal, due to inherent discord, disaffiliated from the Federation, built a new nation and adopted its own flag.

In 1959, Mali linked its fortunes with Senegal in the Mali Federation. Its constitution, adopted in January 1959, stated that the flag of the federation and its member states was to have equal vertical stripes of green-yellow-red with a black stylized human figure in the center, his arms raised toward heaven.

The black-colored kanaga, in stick-figure, is in the form of a human shape with arms extending upwards towards the sky. The figure is contrary to Muslim beliefs about making human images and was widely condemned. Later, mounting pressures from the Muslim front eventually caused its removal from the flag.

A 'kanaga' symbol was used on the first Mali flag until it was abolished in 1961. The symbol is a black human-like image and it was removed because of pressure from Muslims who do not approve of making images in the human form. Malaysia is on the Malay Peninsula in southeast Asia. The nation also includes Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo to the east. Its area slightly exceeds that of New Mexico. The ancestors of the people that now inhabit the Malaysian peninsula first migrated to the area between 2500 and 1500 B.C.

Those living in the coastal regions had early contact with the Chinese and Indians; seafaring traders from India brought with them Hinduism, which was blended with the local animist beliefs. As Muslims conquered India, they spread the religion of Islam to Malaysia. In the 15th century, Islam acquired a firm hold on the region when the Hindu ruler of the powerful city-state of Malacca, Parameswara Dewa Shah, converted to Islam.

The flag design consists of a blue rectangle on the top left corner having a yellow crescent and a yellow star with fourteen points and a field of red and white stripes. The stripes have identical widths. The fourteen-pointed star signifies the unity of the 13 federal states and the federal government. The equal width in the red and white stripes symbolizes the equal status of the 13 federal states and the federal government. The golden crescent moon represents Islam because it is the national religion. The blue region means the harmony and unity of the Malaysian people. Yellow is considered the royal color associated with the Malay rulers.

The design of the Malayan flag was determined through a national contest organized by the Federation government in 1947. It was the flag that unified the states of Malaysia because, before the implementation of the flag, each Malayan state has its own flag. The winning design was made by an architect employed in the Public Works Department, Mohamed Hamzah. It was one of the three finalists in the flag design competition.

The 14 stripes and points of the star represent the 13 member states of the Malaysian federation and the Federal District of Kuala Lumpur. They represent equal status in the federation of the states and in the federal government. The crescent and star imagery represent Islam, and yellow is a traditional royal color. The blue square stands for unity of the Malaysian people. The blue was originally adopted from the British Union Jack and represented Malaysia's link to Britain.

The current version has 14 stripes and a 14-pointed star. Yellow is a royal color in Malaysia, and red, white, and blue indicate the close association of the country with the Commonwealth. The flag design was also influenced by the flag of the United States. The crescent and star symbolize the nation’s majority Muslim population. Madagascar lies in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of Africa opposite Mozambique. The world's fourth-largest island, it is twice the size of Arizona. The country's low-lying coastal area gives way to a central plateau. The once densely wooded interior has largely been cut down.

The island is first known to Europeans after being sighted in 1500 by a Portuguese ship on the new route to India, but it is not until a century later that much outside attention is paid to the place. In the 17th century, Portuguese missionaries try to bring to the Malagasy the news of Christianity, and both Britain and France attempt to establish settlements.

The flag of Madagascar was first hoisted on October 14, 1958, prior to the declaration of its independence on June 26, 1960. It was first flown alongside its preparation for a referendum which tackled its membership with the French community. The flag is composed of three colors white, red and green. The red and green are placed together (red on top, green below) to form two horizontal stripes while the white color is placed perpendicular to the two horizontal stripes.

The colors impressed on the flags represent the struggles of its people for independence from French tyranny. The history of Madagascar will tell that the colors green and red were once used by Queen Ranavalona III as the flag of Merina kingdom which yielded to France’s domination in 1896. Queen Ranavalona III was the last reigning Merina monarch before the kingdom succumbed to French rule.

One theory on the Madagascar flag's meaning states that the colors of the Madagascar flag represent Madagascar's history, yearning for independence, and traditional classes. Red and white were the colors of the Merina kingdom, which fell to France in 1896. The colors were used in the flag of Queen Ranavalona III, the last Merina monarch.

There is a newer interpretation regarding given to the flag that is worthy to mention when it comes to the facts and history of Madagascar flag: white stands for purity of the people, green for hope and victory, and finally, red stands for sovereignty. The earliest human habitation in what is now Maine can be traced back to prehistoric times, as evidenced by the burial mounds of the Red Paint people found in the south-central part of the state. The Native Americans who came later left enormous shell heaps, variously estimated to be from 1,000 to 5,000 years old. At the time of settlement by Europeans, the Abnaki were scattered along the coast and in some inland areas.

The first white settlement was established by the Plymouth Company at Popham in 1607, the same year of the settlement at Jamestown, Virginia. Because the Popham colony didn't survive the harsh Maine winters, Jamestown enjoys the distinction of being regarded as America's first permanent settlement.

There are other facts regarding Maine Flag history that should be known. The State Legislature of Maine passed on 21st March 1901, a resolution to constitute a proper Maine Flag. This act stated the criteria for the Maine Flag, regarding the kind of symbols used on it and how they would be displayed. However, the Legislature altered the standards of the flag on 23rd February 1909, thus placing the state coat of arms on the blue flag.

The blue color of the flag tallies with the blue shade used by the US flag. The heart of the flag bears an embroidery of the State coat of arms of Maine. The edge of the flag is decorated with a two and a half inches broad, yellow colored silk, knotted fringe. The images on the Maine State coat of arms are those of land, sea, a moose, and a pine tree. On one side of the shield is a farmer supporting himself on a scythe and the other side has a sailor resting on an anchor.

Maine's official state seal also displays the state's coat of arms. The farmer is a symbol of pride in Maine's agricultural roots. The sailor represents Maine's strong ties to the sea. Symbols of the natural richness of the state are pictured on the center shield - a pine tree, a moose (Maine's official state animal), sea, and sky.

The star glimmering overhead is a symbol of unity and leadership, which guides citizens home. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flag designs offered a special edition of decals and flags to memorize the history of Maine State Flag for the future.

Maldives is an archipelago country located in the Indian Ocean. It is officially called the Republic of Maldives. The island is made up of twenty-six land masses extending in the north to south direction. The island is in the Laccadive Sea of the Northern Indian Ocean. Its boundaries include Sri Lanka and India in the southwest direction. Maldives is composed of many islands and the central archipelago is the Lakshadweep-Maldives-Chagos group of islands.

Some archeologists, including the now much-dismissed Thor Heyerdahl, believe that the Maldives was well known from around 2000 BC, and was a trading junction for several ancient maritime civilizations including Egyptians, Romans, Mesopotamians and Indus Valley traders. The legendary sun-worshipping people called the Redin may have descended from one of these groups.

The flag of Maldives has a distinct history of its own. Originally the country had a plain red flag to which black and white bands were added later on. These stripes were placed in the hoist. Prime Minister Amir Abdul Majid Didi added the green panel and the crescent to the flag in the early part of the present century. Till 1949, the crescent in the flag would point towards the flag's hoist. The Maldives Flag has a green colored background, which is surrounded by a bright red panel. The flag has a crescent in the center of the green area.

The Maldives flag was adopted on July 25, 1963. The flag of Maldives was originally a plain red flag. Up until 1949, the crescent pointed towards the left. The country gained independence from Britain on July 16, 1965. The flag of Maldives consists of a red background with a green rectangle in the middle of it. In the middle of the rectangle, there is a white crescent pointing towards the right side of the Maldives flag.

The national flag has its opening facing the hoist side while the state flag’s crescent faces the opposite direction. In 1953 to 1965, Maldives was made a republic and the flag has undergone another change. The national flag ceased to be used and the new flag featured a five-pointed white star beside the crescent moon.

The National flag of Maldives symbolizes certain aspects about the country. The green area represents the numerous palm trees that one can find over here. It is a symbol of life. The red area represents the blood of the people who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence while the crescent symbolizes Islam, the national religion of the country. Louisiana has a long and varied history. The region was possibly visited by Cabeza de Vaca and his fellow survivors of a Spanish expedition of 1528, and it was certainly seen by some of De Soto's men (1541â€"42). In 1682, La Salle reached the mouth of the Mississippi and claimed for France all of the land drained by that river and its tributaries, naming it Louisiana after Louis XIV. Europeans did not permanently settle there until 1699, when Pierre le Moyne, Sieur d'Iberville, founded a settlement near Biloxi. This settlement became the seat of government for Louisiana, an enormous territory embracing the entire Mississippi drainage basin.

Thus, the history of the Louisiana Flag has several notable facts to relate about it. The design of the current Louisiana Flag has its origins in 1800. Louisiana was the 18th state to become a part of the Union in 1812.

During the years 1861 and 1865, Louisiana used the Confederate National Flags as it was a member of the Confederate States. The present Louisiana Flag was adopted in 1912 by the Louisiana State Legislature as the official flag.

The Louisiana Flag has a solid blue background, with a simple form of the state seal depicted in the center. On the seal, there is an eastern brown pelican mother on a nest with 3 baby pelicans nestled close to it. The state motto that says " Union, Justice and Confidence", is written on a white ribbon, just beneath the seal.

After over a century of an unofficial pelican flag as the state flag, they finally adopted it in 1912 as the official flag of Louisiana that still flies today. The white pelican sits in the center of a dark blue flag with a scroll beneath its feet. Three baby pelicans, looking up, rest at the feet of the larger one.

The mother brown pelican is seen tearing at her breast with her beak. It is believed that when food was scarce a mother Pelican would tear off her own flesh to feed her babies rather than have them starve. The scene represents self-sacrifice. Precious few medical professionals will perform stem cell procedures today, given that they are still considered experimental; most studies into their efficacy have been conducted on animals, with only a few on humans. Still, the soundness of the theory behind this treatment combined with the growing number of trials being done suggests that this therapy will soon become a more mainstream method. In is not surprising that patients are now flocking to the stem cell treatment centers Indiana.

As cells are building block of our body so many scientists also believe that it may reveal the mystery of aging also. Doctors and surgeons are best available with the latest equipment offering best therapy at a not so high price. The therapy is used as these cells have the ability to distinguish themselves from other types of cells in the body, such as the muscle cells or the blood cells and liver cells and among others Their unique capability to self-renew and regenerate by replacing the damaged and injured cell is the answer to the cure of many types of cancers, blood-related diseases, brain and liver injuries among others.

The pre-testing stage takes two days these tests include an X-ray, condition of the lungs, measures the heart condition and blood test. Luxembourg, country in northwestern Europe. One of the world’s smallest countries, it is bordered by Belgium on the west and north, France on the south, and Germany on the northeast and east. Luxembourg has come under the control of many states and ruling houses in its long history, but it has been a separate, if not always autonomous, political unit since the 10th century.

The modern independent state is a nineteenth-century creation, but national identity developed when Luxembourg was an independent duchy between 963 and 1443C.E.Sigefroi (Siegfried), count of Ardennes, bought the area in 963 from the Abbey of Saint Maximin in Trier and built a fortress on the site of the Roman castle.

The colors were branded during the Belgian Revolution in 1830, and the flag was officially designed in 1845, ten years after Luxembourg finally declared its independence from Germany. Inspired by the flag in France, the colors of the flag in Luxembourg are based on the coat of arms of its Grand Duke, Count Henry, during the 13th century. It has a red lion with white and blue stripes in the background. Such a coat of arms may be dated back to the medieval times.

The flag of Luxembourg was officially adopted on June 23, 1972, though it had been in used from around 1848. Prior to this, before 1830, Luxembourg did not have a national flag. Around the time of the Belgian Revolution, Luxembourg adopted the red, white, and blue.

The flag of Luxembourg consists of three equal sized horizontal stripes - the top stripe is red; the middle one is white and the bottom stripe is light blue. The Luxembourg flag is similar to the flag of the Netherlands, which uses a darker shade of blue. The similarity, however, is just a coincidence, there's no historical connection.

Although it is a bit similar to that of Netherlands, the flag of Luxembourg still owns a trace of uniqueness. It is the main reason why people in Luxembourg still give their utmost respect to their flag. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flag designs offered a special edition of decals and flags to memorize the history of Luxembourg Flag for the future.

It is of great significant if medical discoveries which are basically amazing in the field of medicine are to be recognized. Initially stem cells were not recognized in treating or managing diseases and conditions. Basically stem cells refer to those building blocks in human body. These cells actually replicate into similar copies which actually replace or repair the worn out tissues in the body. When choosing for stem cell treatment centers Indiana several factors need to be considered.

Currently most of this treating practices in these centers is directed to cancer therapies and also in curing of other diseases like leukemia. This method of treating is also used in sclerosis. Patients visiting these treatment sites basically are provided with stem cells which are healthier. These cells are actually detached and developed from their own blood. These are commonly regarded to as self stem transplants.

It is also necessary if the patients get informed on the costs, benefits, risks and procedures associated with this kind of medical service. The clinics using this kind of methods needs to have equipped laboratories, well trained practitioners and cooperation and support team in ensuring that service delivery is of required standards. As any other type of medical treatment, this form of practice does not assure guaranteed results.

Lack of clear understanding of the way human body carries out its functions actually has facilitated this. The individual nature basically determines the length of time the boy takes to respond to such treatment. The protocol used in this kind of health practice basically determines treatment times. City Indianapolis, IN has some practitioners who are quite competent.

In Indianapolis city only few centers are licensed to use this kind of treatment. Basically it becomes advisable if the patients actually look for medically certified institutions before enrolling to treatment. It is important to consider experience of personnel whom are offering such medical services. Assessment of laboratory facilities and personnel offering those services is of great significance.

Such factors to be considered include prior cancers, specification medication use or even progression of a disease can actually remove a patient from receiving this kind of medication. Studies have revealed a number of supplements which would be beneficial in such treatments. Some clinics in Indianapolis city advocate for the provision of all the results obtained from all laboratory tests after treatment.

These results include daily blood panels and cell counts together with other relevant information that is necessary in provision of full medical file. These centers actually work with medical providers to offer a continuous care if this is in the wish of the patient other than regular lab tests and results.

It is necessary to medically test the viability of the cells, their purity and the numbers before actually using them. It is important to consider the location of the clinic of choice. Treatment of using this method mostly depends on the procedure chosen. Some procedures like cellular expansion actually demands lesser time as compared to other kinds

Lithuania â€" a country located in the North Baltic Sea. It gained its unity in the 13th century and became one of the largest states of Europe. In 1569, they merged with Poland.

The Liths, or Lithuanians, united in the 12th century under the rule of Mindaugas, who became king in 1251. Through marriage, one of the later Lithuanian rulers became the king of Poland (Ladislaus II) in 1386, uniting the countries. In 1410, the Poles and Lithuanians defeated the powerful Teutonic Knights at Tannenberg.

There was a brief Nazi occupation from 1941 to 1945. The USSR regained control when WWII ended in 1945. The flag used before the collapse of the Soviet Union was a generic Soviet red flag with the name of the country on it and narrow green and white stripes at the bottom.

The Lithuanian flag was adopted on March 20, 1989, as Lithuania adopted its old tricolor flag as its official flag in March 1989. The Lithuanian flag had previously been used during Lithuania's period of independence from Russia - from 1918 to 1940. It was created in 1918 replacing the historical red flag featuring the Vytis or white knight on a horse, which had been used by Lithuania for centuries. The Soviet Union took control of the country again in 1944 and outlawed the flag. On September 20, 1989, Lithuania proclaimed independence from the Soviet Union.

After the revolution Lithuania’s longing to have an independent state grew. Of course, Russia was aware of this. That is why they thought of a solution to resolve this problem. It was here that the question of having a Lithuanian national flag arose.

It is a criminal offense not to fly the flag on Independence Day and you can be fined. In 1992, the government defined the exact colors and design after they were adopted in 1992. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flag designs offered a special edition of decals and flags to memorize the history of Lithuanian Flag for the future.

The region now covered by the Principality of Liechtenstein was first occupied during the Neolithic Period and has been an independent state under the rule of the Princely House of Liechtenstein since 1719.

The Liechtensteiners are descended from the Alemanni tribe that came into the region after A.D. 500. Founded in 1719, Liechtenstein was a member of the German Confederation from 1815 to 1866, when it became an independent principality. It abolished its army in 1868 and has managed to stay neutral and undamaged in all European wars since then.

Traditionally, flags of territories ruled by royalty in Europe have corresponded to the “livery colors” of the ruler’s coat of arms. The flag of Liechtenstein is an example, however, where the livery colors and the arms are quite different.

The flag of Liechtenstein consist of two horizontal halves - the top half is blue and the bottom is red. In the upper left corner of Liechtenstein's flag, there is a gold crown. In 1937, the head of the government, Joseph Hoop, described the meaning of Liechtenstein's flag as this: "Blue is the color of a radiant sky, red the color of the embers in the fireplace during evening gatherings; gold of the crown shows that our people, our country and our princely House are united in heart and spirit.

The crown stands for the unity of the people and their prince, blue symbolizes the sky, and red is for the evening fires in homes. Further minor modifications were made in the laws of 1957 and September 18, 1982. These laws show the Liechtenstein flag in several different formats.

In addition to the usual horizontal flying flag, there is a square banner and a long, narrow flag that hangs vertically from a crossbar. The crossbar is attached by a cord to a normal pole extended from a building, but the crown points upward regardless of the vertical or horizontal format. At first, Libya was inhabited by Berber tribes. After 1,000 BC a people from Lebanon called the Phoenicians settled in Tripolitania (western Libya). They founded Tripoli. Later the ancient Greeks settled in Cyrenaica (eastern Libya). Later both areas of Libya became part of the Roman Empire. A Roman Emperor called Septimus Severus (193-211) was a native of the great city of Leptis Magna in Roman Libya. Unfortunately, Leptis Magna was severely damaged by an earthquake in 365.

Italy took control of Libya in 1911 after invading the country and defeating the Turks. After World War I Italy's leader, Benito Mussolini, declared his intention of forming a second Roman Empire. The Libyan people never accepted Italian rule. Between 1911 and 1932, Libyans in Tripolitania, Fezzan, and Cyrenaica fought the Italian colonial government.

Libya was the scene of much desert fighting during World War II. After the fall of Tripoli on Jan. 23, 1943, it came under Allied administration. In 1949, the UN voted that Libya should become independent, and in 1951, it became the United Kingdom of Libya.

When Libya got its independence, the Kingdom of Libya was built up. That was then the present banner of Libya was initially embraced. After the upset of 1969, the Libyan Arab Republic was set up, when the banner was changed under the bearings of Muammar al-Gaddafi. He was ousted in the 2011 common war, and later re-building up the same banner.

The flag of Libya is a tricolor, with three horizontal bands of red, black and green colors respectively, forming the base. Of these, the black band is the largest in width. On the center is an emblem comprised of a white crescent and a five-pointed star.

The outline framing the focal bit the bow and star on a dark foundation have its roots in the configuration of the pennant used amid the Senussi Dynasty, which was established in Mecca in 1837. The red shading speaks of the blood of the Libyan individuals who lost their lives in the rightist principle of Italy, and the green shading remains for peace. From the start the republic of Liberia is associated, as its name suggests, with the idea of freedom. The American Colonization Society, founded in 1817, has as its aim the settlement of freed slaves in colonies where they can become self-sufficient. With that purpose in mind agents from the society visit the west African coast south from Freetown, where the British have already established just such a settlement.

The society contended that the emigration of blacks to Africa was an answer to the problem of slavery and the incompatibility of the races. Over the course of forty years, about 12,000 slaves were voluntarily relocated. Originally called Monrovia, the colony became the Free and Independent Republic of Liberia in 1847.

The Liberian banner was received on July 26, 1847. Liberia was settled by liberated American slaves in the mid-1800s, naming their nation for freedom itself. The nation was initially perceived as a province of the USA. Thus, the Liberian banner is fundamentally the same to the banner of the United States of America.

The banner of Liberia comprises of six red and five white exchanging level stripes that summary the banner. In the upper left-hand corner of the Liberian banner, there is a blue square which has a white five-pointed star in the focal point of it.

The 11 stripes symbolize the 11 signatories of the Liberian affirmation of independence. The red and white hues symbolize boldness and good magnificence. The white star speaks of the opportunity the ex-slaves were given and the blue square speaks of the African terrain.

Shipping companies do this to avoid taxes and restrictions that other countries enforce. It is estimated that about 1600 ships fly the Liberian flag as a flag of convenience. This brings in much of the country's revenue. Baltic tribespeople settled along the Baltic Sea and, lacking a centralized government, fell prey to more powerful peoples. In the 13th century, they were overcome by the Livonian Brothers of the Sword, a German order of knights whose mission was to conquer and Christianize the Baltic region. The land became part of the state of Livonia until 1561. Germans composed the ruling class of Livonia and Baltic tribes made up the peasantry. German was the official language of the region.

From their base in Latvia, the Germans marched inland and took the land from the native people. The Germans formed themselves into a quasi-monastic order called the Brotherhood of the Sword. They called the Baltic region Livonia. In 1237, the Brotherhood of the Sword merged with another German Order, the Teutonic Knights and called themselves the Livonian Order. The Germans made themselves a feudal ruling class in Latvia. The increasingly powerful country of Russia sought access to the sea and they invaded Latvia in 1558. The Livonian Wars as they were called lasted until 1583.

Latvia was one of the most economically well-off and industrialized parts of the Soviet Union. The Baltic nations saw an opportunity to free themselves from Soviet domination and Latvia declared its independence on Aug. 21, 1991. Most other nations quickly recognized their independence.

The present Latvian banner was embraced on February 27, 1990. This Latvian banner was initially used by the independent Latvia from 1918 to 1940 when the USSR again assumed control over the nation and banned usage of the banner. Latvia recovered freedom from the Soviet Union on August 21, 1991.

The flag of Latvia consists of a maroon base with a white horizontal stripe running through the middle of it. The Latvian flag is reported to date back to a military unit in 1279, which would make it one of the oldest national flags in the world.

Dr. Karlis Ulmanis, the last President of Latvia before the Soviet intrusion in 1940 portrayed the importance of the Latvian banner as this: "White stands for right and truth, the honor of free residents and reliability. The maroon/red helps us to remember the blood that has been shed in the later past. It has been shed at all times in the remote past and we are prepared to offer it again for opportunity and freedom, for our country and nation." Lesotho was settled by the Sotho people sometime in the 16th century, mingling peacefully with the earlier Khoisan whose history can be traced in rock-art in various sites in the mountains. The Basotho were welded into a nation relatively recently by one outstanding leader. Around 1820, Moshoeshoe I, a minor chief of the Bakwena, gathered a following among the tribes who had retreated to the north-western borders of present-day Lesotho to protect themselves against Zulu and Matabele raids.

In 1824 Moshoeshoe moved his people to Thaba-Bosiu, a mountaintop that was even easier to defend. King Moshoeshoe I rose in diplomatic status with his acts of friendship towards his beaten enemies. He provided land and protection to various Sotho peoples and this strengthened the growing Basotho nation. His influence and followers grew from an inflow of refugees and victims of the continuing Mfecane.

Lesotho (formerly Basutoland) was constituted as a native state under British protection by a treaty signed with the native chief Moshoeshoe in 1843. It was annexed to Cape Colony in 1871, but in 1884 it was restored to direct control by the Crown. The colony of Basutoland became the independent nation of Lesotho on Oct. 4, 1966, with King Moshoeshoe II as sovereign.

Lesotho adopted its first flag in 1966, which was when it got independence from the United Kingdom. There were three vertical stripes of Green, Red, and Blue, with the last one taking up the most area. A white mokorotlo also featured on the flag. In 1987, the Basotho National Party was toppled from power by a military coup, which was when a new design of the flag was introduced. This flag was in use until 2006.

The banner of Lesotho is separated into three corner to corner stripes - the biggest stripe on the left is white; the middle stripe is blue, and the right-hand stripe is green. In the upper left corner of the Lesotho banner and white stripe is a light chestnut symbol of a conventional shield - which is a part of the nation's emblem.

It is believed that Lesotho's old flag wasn't used after the coup because it identified too closely with the deposed Basotho National Party BNP, who had led the country since independence and incorporated its colors of red, white, blue and green. The human history of Laos stretches back more than 10,000 years as stone tools and skulls unearthed in Huaphan and Luang Prabang provinces can confirm. The famous giant jars in Xieng Khouang province and stone columns in Huaphan province date from the neolithic period. Over centuries, rural settlements grew slowly to 'muang' (townships) along the Mekong River.

During this time, the Pathet Lao used the flag design of blue with red stripes at the top and at the bottom and a white disk in the center. This became the national flag of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party wherein the red stripes signified blood shed by the people for their drive to achieve freedom and the color blue representing prosperity and wealth for the people.

In 1951, Prince Souphanouvong organized the Pathet Lao, a Communist independence movement, in North Vietnam. Viet Minh and Pathet Lao forces invaded central Laos, resulting in civil war. By the Geneva Agreements of 1954 and an armistice of 1955, two northern provinces were given to the Pathet Lao; the rest went to the royal regime. Full sovereignty was given to the kingdom by the Paris Agreements of Dec. 29, 1954.

There was a previous design of the national flag which is red with a centerpiece of a triple-headed elephant standing on a pedestal with a parasol at the top of its heads. This design reflected the ancient name of the country as the "Land of a Million Elephants. This flag was used by the royal government before its collapse in 1975.

The flag of Laos consists of three horizontal stripes with a white circle in the middle. The top and bottom stripes are equal width and are red; while the middle stripe is blue and equal to the width of the two red stripes.

However among Lao scholars, there is controversy over whether the three-headed elephant meant to represent the unity of the three kingdoms or just the Kingdom of LuangPrabang. The umbrella also has certain meanings. In Sri Lanka and India, Buddhist temples were in the shape of huge domes and on top of the dome there would be a small umbrella (or parasol) surrounded by square railings. The highest point of the dome or pillar, the umbrella, represents the Buddhist cosmological myth of Mt. Meru being the center of the universe. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flag designs offered a special edition of decals and flags to memorize the history of Laos Flag for the future.
